The Expedition

In November,2015, the Waitt Foundation teamed with our colleagues at the Waitt Institute to support an expedition to a potential new Blue Halo Initiative site, Curaçao, in the Lesser Antilles Islands. We were joined by a dozen international volunteer scientists, the crew of our research ship and supported by CARMABI locally and Scripps Institution Of Oceanography internationally.  We conducted an amazing 475 dives around the entire island, to include surveying its difficult windward side.  Results will follow soon but we have high hopes for Curaçao as a future success in the ongoing Blue Halo Program.
