The Expedition
In October of 2010 the Waitt Foundation partnered with Greenpeace in order to assist them in a study of the ongoing disaster of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. We partnered with Dr. Sandra Brooke and Dr. Steve Ross and brought along our Dual Deepworker submersible in order to get them beyond diver depth. It will take generations for the full effects of the the massive amounts of oil that were spilled from British Petroleum's exploded drill rig to be fully understood but the data gathered by our expedition will inform the ongoing process.
