This Waitt Expedition to Fiji was the first ever dedicated solely to Shark research. We worked with expedition leader, Jessica Cramp of Sharks Pacific; Primary Investigator, Dr. Demian Chapman, and researchers from the Moore Charitable Foundation and Microwave Telemetry. The goals were to deploy Research Objective Cameras for insights on local populations and then attach satellite transponders to several sharks. The expedition worked from our small boats both deploying cameras and chumming/fishing for sharks. Several sharks were tagged and studied with scientific papers resulting from the effort.
